The Republican Party of Montana convened yesterday to nominate their candidate for the upcoming special Congressional election, which fills the seat vacated by Ryan Zinke. Businessman Greg Gianforte was picked for the task of holding the seat. Mr. Gianforte ran a close but ultimately unsuccessful campaign for Governor last year, losing statewide by 3.8%. Before he was even selected, Republicans had begun airing ads against Democratic nominee Rob Quist, who was nominated Sunday at his Party’s convention. The special election is set for May 25th.
