The Democratic Party of Montana convened today to nominate their candidate for the upcoming special Congressional election, which fills the seat vacated by Ryan Zinke, now Secretary of the Interior. A total of eight candidates were named, and after multiple rounds of voting, Rob Quist is the Democratic Congressional candidate. Mr. Quist is a musician perhaps best known for founding the Mission Mountain Wood band. A Sanders supporter in 2016, he is running on a progressive platform, and will be banking on anti-Trump energy to gain a Congressional seat for the Democrats. The Republican Party, which is favored based on recent history to retain the seat, convenes tomorrow to nominate their candidate.
