|Ralph Northam (Democratic)||55.9%||303,738|
|Tom Perriello (Democratic)||44.1%||239,383|
We're calling this for Northam
Almost all of Loudoun County is in, and Northam has won it by 2%. If this holds throughout the region, NOVA will be very close.
First results from northern VA are looking good for Northam. He's up in Loudoun, and Fairfax. Perriello still strong in the rural areas, especially those around his old district.
First results from Washington County have Perriello up. He should do better overall in this area.
Polls are now closed!
The Democratic side of the Gubernatorial contests has been the more interesting, especially since there was effectively no race until January. Former Congressman Tom Perriello decided to step in and give assumed nominee and current Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam a real fight. Public polling gives Perriello the lead. Per Geoffrey Skelley, watch Richmond and Norfolk: Perriello has made appeals to African American voters, prominent in both municipalities. We have members on the ground in both, so we should have numbers quickly.
