Race Preview

Two moderates face off in tonight’s general election for Mayor of Aurora, and despite the city’s Democratic lean, it could be one of the more competitive contests tonight. While officially nonpartisan, council member Richard Irvin, a Republican, faces off against the resigning mayor’s aide Rick Guzman, a Democrat, after a primary that saw expected front runner candidate Linda Chapa-LaVia place only third. Polls close at 8pm Eastern time and we will be updating tallies shortly thereafter.

We are still modifying our DDHQ display for races smaller then Congressional, so results will appear in the timestamped updates instead of the above display.
