Over $2 million raised in Montana’s Special Election So Far

Bozeman Republican Greg Gianforte says he has raised about $1.5 million toward his campaign for Montana's only U.S. House seat.

The amount was double that raised by Democrat Rob Quist, a political newcomer from Creston, who announced Wednesday that he's received 18,000 campaign contributions totaling $750,000.

While the Republican is out-raising his Democratic opponent two-to-one, Mr. Quist’s haul is impressive for a Democrat in an overlooked special election. Much of the national focus has been on Jon Ossoff’s bid in Georgia’s 6th district. Depending on the outcome of that race next month, Quist could see a boost in financial support as he approaches the May vote in Montana.
